The love of paragliding and competing with the best led this Sangileño to compete twice in the Air Tour, one of the best competitions in the World in this discipline.
In 2014 and 2016, Sergio went to France to test his skills in the Alps, those mountains that have given us so many glories in cycling that he flew over from end to end, waving the flag at the highest.
In these competitions, he was measured against 50 other athletes in the World, only the best, being among the best 20 on both occasions.
He brought all that experience and adrenaline back to Colombia, sharing his learning with the Chicamocha Paragliding pilots, with whom he flies and constantly trains to improve his abilities.
In addition to continuing to consolidate our company as the best in Santander, Sergio’s dream is to return to Europe to be on the Air Tour and the X-Alps, making him the only Santanderean to have flown with the World’s greatest.

Red Bull X-Alps is the toughest adventure race in the world. It is a fiercely contested battle that takes place across the Alps and lasts nearly two weeks, during which about 30 athletes run, hike, and fly with paragliders up to 150 km per day, passing through established checkpoints in iconic mountains and famous tourist destinations. Athletes often hike up to 4000 meters of elevation gain per day and run up to 100 km on foot, making it not only an incredible test of physical endurance but also the ultimate challenge for the world’s top hiking and flying athletes.
The Red Bull X-Alps is open only to the best paraglider pilots and adventure athletes in the world, but it is a unique race where men and women compete equally. The race was founded in 2003 by the late adventurer Hannes Arch and has been held every two years since then. The 2023 edition marked the 20th anniversary of the iconic race.
The St Hil Airtour combines paragliding and hiking in a raid-style event. Pilots, accompanied by their assistants, cover a course of over 400 km that spans four departments: Isère, Savoie, Drôme, and Hautes-Alpes.
