From scratch to achieving the first high-altitude flight

This course allows for progression from scratch; the methodology is primarily based on practical paragliding control and some theoretical lessons. The course begins with three field school lessons (one daily) and includes instructional tandem flights, where the pilot allows the student to control the paraglider while indicating what is happening around. After these practices and with confidence in the student’s good progress, flights from higher hills are conducted.

It is a basic course that allows for skill development for the first solo flight, guided by radio by a qualified instructor; the number of flights will depend on the student’s own skills and weather conditions.

What Does the Course Involve?

The course progresses according to each student’s own evolution; however, we try to follow the following itinerary:

Throughout the course, we conduct both theoretical and practical classes, and we provide materials for the student to study at home.
The first 4 days are spent at the field school located in Curiti Santander, where we begin ground handling. Here, the first flights called “Sapitos” are carried out.
On the last day, we change the scenario and go to the flying site located in Floridablanca Santander (Ruitoque), where the first high-altitude flight is conducted at the beginning of the morning or at the end of the afternoon.
In this practice, we have an instructor at takeoff and another at landing.

3 flight locations for you

We have three flight locations that allow you to evolve in both types of paragliding flight, dynamic and thermal. During this course, inductive flights and practices will be carried out in the 3 flight locations (Curiti, Ruitoque, and Chicamocha Canyon); however, the location for conducting the final (autonomous) practices will be decided based on each student’s progress.
